Description
I'm sorry I haven't been around to comment that much lately. I've been missing out on a lot of nice artworks I guess! But now I'm back again. This is my latest artwork, Wish, and my first finished painting on my new monitor! Weee
It was made in Photoshop using many different references and textures. At the beginning it was meant to be a part of my new homesite layout. But I'm such a slowpoke that I'll never get finished.
So for now I hope you enjoy my painting. Thanks for looking and every comment is appriciated as usual!
Wish will also be included in the latest Exotique 3 book.

You have awesome skills but you need to study much more harder to master on anatomy and perspective in order to be able of read the logic behind the photo reference.

edit: Only thing you might wanna change is what Arik mentioned. In the sky those clouds should maybe face outwards instead of inwards

I love the variation of colours in the sky, and if it wasn't for Arik, those assholes wouldn't have bothered me. Much.
Good work with texturing the skin! The green dress cloth is too blurry in the edges, it takes away the realistic look.
Keep it up!

The sky looks good ,not great, but that doesn't bother because the lady gets all the attention.
To me whats wrong with the hand is the shape of the hand or the lack of a defined shape. What I mean is the anatomy is very good, skin over bones etc., but it needs some strong outlining.
Look at the reference and follow the same curves.

k but back on topic... beautiful eyes really! i'm quite addicted to eyes... so i spend some time watching them..
her dress is awesome as well... and for the hand... when you first look at it... it isn't wrong at all ... but it might need to be a bit thicker when the hand starts from the lower arm....
the sky rocks, and so does the background... i really have to practice clouds and backgrounds more

klungsama: Takk! I have never seen holes in the sky, and I couldn't find any ref's either. I painted only from my imagination. But I guess your suggestion would be more realistic.
slickgreekgeo: I've done a lot of effort and studies on how to paint skin, so I'm glad you notice. ^_^
nick: *smooch!*
jane: Thank you for your nice comment.
ViolentContact: Oh sure! I'm honoured
Rafsan: Thank you. I guess the problem with my hand is that it looks more like a sausage-hand than a real hand.
XeriuX: Go get wacom now!

as mentioned the face is beautifully done.
Yes, the hand could use a bit improvement;
I think its a bit too big and too well defined at the knuckles,
would soften it a bit more to match her lovely face.
The textures on her left arm/shoulder is a bit distracting.
Great composition and background, feels epic

the face eyes (what is that persoon thinking meanig to say feeling of that person) most important and than details of the others like backgrounds and so
that is olso what i most like on this picture

Beside, the rest is excellent. Her face is really beautiful and guess you must have worked hard on the texture. Your choice of colours is really amazing and I can see the colour harmony between the girl and the background. But the way you rendered the sky and the shooting stars turned out to remind me of the background of some star war scenes rather than a breeze of romance which should be here. The star holes don't need such much work, while I think one star is enough
Keep up good work +8/9

rockscorp: I agree. I love eyes, and if the eyes are well painted in a portrait, it's not a big deal if the rest of the face is bad.
mysticcat: Because I got bored.
And to the rest: I cannot say enough thanks. Even if I don't reply back to your comment here, it doesn't mean I don't care of them! I'm very delighted from your words, and I will always return the comment.

I adore the colours you've used here! The sort of teal colour and the brown... they look very nice together, and really give the picture some atmosphere IMO. Also, really interesting shirt design! I love the three different straps. Definitely very original.
05/28/07 @951
gasp! I cannot believe it
this is an outstanding piece!
the background reminds me a bit of "mona lisa"'s background
there is something odd about the way her head is attached to her neck...maybe slightly different shading/lightsource?
anyway, great work! top marks for you
05/29/07 @630
Kayness, yes it's true I was inspired by Mona Lisa. My boyfriend once told me that she doesn't look very well integrated into the landscape. I replied it was supposed to be like Mona Lisa (partly true, partly an excuse.

You rock.
10/10.
My wish: you should create one like "The Giant who Loved a Firefly" and "Merry Christmas"-style, with some stories behind.. Maybe something related to the sea.. Just a wish..

Subha954: I have a fan!
Ryen: There are many people that seem to like that style. Hmm.. well it's a very fun way to paint, so why not? I might make an artwork lke that soon.
Maidith: I'm so happy you like the colors. For me colors are one of the most important part of a painitng.
And thank you SO MUCH everyone for all your nice comments! Finally I have a proper artwork under my "Highest rated artworks". Now I gotta get rid of that boob artwork I have there.

& even more for having been
made at 19/20. Critiques
are unnecessary, because
the achievement of this in the

ability/motivation to reach
whatever level of "perfection"
is necessary.

X-CALIBUR: You are telling me the exact thing I've been telling a lot of other people, and I agree with you. To be honest, I've spent months on this artwork, going back and forth and forcing myself to finish it. If I made another little detail I would have bursted.
