Description
This is a recreation of William Bouguereau's "Amour a Laffut" (Love on the look out), done as a study.I've always loved his paintings and the way he paint light and skin. So I did this to try and learn a little about skin and light.
If you don't know who William Bouguereau is, he's a famous french realism painter. He's especially known for "The Birth of Venus". You can read more about him and see many of his beautiful artworks here: http://www.artrenewal.org/museum/b/Bouguereau_William/bio1.asp
I also made you this animated wip. Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for watching! Comments and crits are very appriciated.

The hands and feet as mentioned are particularly impressive!

Mr. Pooh: It was originally smaller but I made it larger cause you always tell me to make the signature bigger ._. Oh well... ^^ Thanks for your comment. I love you too honni! <3

Wallace: Thank you. Your words always mean a lot to me. The hands and the feet was for sure the most fun part.

You've got a well trained eye, and a good friendship with the Wacom.
It is hard to tell from the small reference image, but if I'm gonna be a perfectionist, I'd say he's smiling more in your version than the original. The rock in the bottomleft corner could look less smooth and more rough too. But these are minor things. In general, the two paintings are incredibly similar.
And it's reallyniceto see the WIP! It helps us others learn.
But I would still like to see more works from youwhere you did not use reference...

Nanno: Thanks! But there is still a long way to go... the road never ends.
unrealfcy: I agree with you. I began without a grid, but I was too unpatient! Because I wanted only to study light and skintones, I made it with a grid. But next time I won't.
Curlyhair: Lol! Thanks!
Veniten: Ouch!
Slaphapy5 and nelchee: Thanks so much! *huggies*
